A whole-body approach, using gentle techniques adapted to each age, that looks at the body as a whole — searching for the cause and not only the symptom. The aim is to reduce discomfort and restore mobility, balance and rest. From the first months of life through to adolescence, because the body changes a great deal over those years, and what troubles a three-month-old is not what troubles a fifteen-year-old.
Paediatric osteopathy covers ages 0 to 18, and a great deal fits into that range. We have grouped it by stage so you can find yours quickly — and so it is clear that a 15-year-old is still paediatrics.
Birth and the first months leave marks a baby cannot yet put into words — they show up in sleep, at the breast and in crying.
The stage when the body grows fast, school begins, and the first postural and respiratory complaints appear.
Growth spurts, heavy backpacks, sport and the first periods — grown-up complaints in a body that is still finishing.
We work alongside medical care, never instead of it. If your child is being seen by a paediatrician or another specialist, tell us — and bring whatever clinical information you have, because that is what lets us adapt the session from day one.
It is the first question parents ask, and it is almost never written down anywhere. Here it is.
We listen first: how the pregnancy and birth went, how your child sleeps and feeds, what is bothering them and since when. Bring reports, scans or test results if you have them.
Observation of movement and posture, plus a hands-on assessment using very light pressure. With a baby, almost always in your arms or lying down, at their own pace.
Gentle techniques adapted to the age, and at the end we explain what you can do at home — positions, handling, small routines. That is half the result.
Parents always stay in the room. With a baby, much of the session can be done in your arms, and you can breastfeed during the session if needed — nothing here requires separating you.
Book a session, or call us first if you would rather describe the case before deciding. We will tell you honestly whether osteopathy is the right path for your child.
